Introduction
A case study is one of several ways of doing research. Rather than using samples and following a rigid protocol to examine limited number of variables, case study methods involve an in-depth, longitudinal examination of a single instance or event: a case. They provide a systematic way of looking at events, collecting data analyzing information, and reporting the results. As a result the researcher may gain a sharpened understanding of why the instance happened as it did, and what might become important to look at more extensively in future research.
While, the lecture commenced by explanation and discussion about the Islamic economics involved in the case study provide teaching materials that allow lecturer to address specific pedagogical issues and to develop higher-order skills in students. The  pedagogical issues will address four areas: motivation to learn theory; application of theory; use of evidence and limitation of theory. In addition, the case method can also be used in a very effective way in order to move students gradually up the cognitive skills ladder from the low skills levels of knowledge, comprehension and application to the higher and more desirable skills of analysissynthesis andevaluation. This educational taxonomy was originally proposed by Bloom (1956) and, even if not uncontested, it provides a transparent and structured approach to the development of students’ skills.
Both issues should motivate us to write a case study that might be used as teaching materials. This workshop is expected to discuss selected papers by scholars and practitioners in the particular fields. The selected and presented papers from this workshop will be published as textbook.
